On courage

No point in getting your nose in a wrinkle over Wormtongue and his minions.

“Keep your powder dry, and let’s stick it to the incumbents at the election next year, Americans,” says Smitty at The Other McCain.

Indeed, voting (every chance you get) to turn out incumbents is the only term limits policy that really counts. And the only chance we have to get rid of some of these lyin’, stealin’, Constitution-violating bastards.

If we only succeed in replacing them with others of the same stripe, at least we limit the amount of time they have to get up to mischief. And voting Republican, by the way, is the only way to insure that the snooze media will do any part of its journalism job. They rarely scrutinize Democrats.

The pedophile ambassador

Ambassador Howard Gutman is denying the charges of a State Department whistle blower that he solicited underage prostitutes while trolling through a public park in Belgium.

Nevertheless, you have to believe there’s at least a smidgen of truth to the accusations—or else someone really has it in for this Obama campaign bundler ($500,000), former “family first” moralist (irony) and Sarah Palin attack dog.

Wagging the dog

Oh, good, another American war by presidential whim, another war we can’t possibly win, this time backing our own enemies.

The only possible explanation for this new catastrophe-in-the-making is that Wormtongue is wagging the dog, as the old movie title went, trying to divert attention from the scandals engulfing his administration.

UPDATE:  It will be amusing to see if congressional reassertion of its sole right to approve military force will have any effect on an administration already run amuck.

The more things change…

When I was young and, for whatever reason, wound up watching television news or reading the front page of a newspaper, I’d see some jowly old white Southern Democrat congressman explaining why racial segregation really wasn’t a problem because he and his cronies had things well in hand.

Nowadays that particular lie is most often told by some jowly old Southern black Democrat congressman like Elisha Cummings of Maryland who recently assured the Democrat’s chief CNN stenographer Candy Crowley that the IRS “problems” have been solved and we can all go back to sleep now.

Meanwhile handsome young Southern Hispanic Florida Republican senator Marco Rubio is lying out both sides of his mouth, in English on one side and in Spanish on the other, to justify how the pols just need to get on with this amnesty legislation so the multimillion illegal immigrants of the Hispanic persuasion can be legalized. And, no doubt, make them eligible for welfare and food stamps, as well. And, it should be needless to say, prompt their cousins to cross the border as well.

And our very first black President Wormtongue has always casually told one lie after another knowing very well that Crowley & colleagues in the snooze media are fellow Democrats who will take everything he says as the honest truth or at least not make any effort to look into whether it might not be.

In other words, very little has changed among our political class since the late 1950s. They still lie. You still can’t trust them. No matter which party they’re in. But, hey, aren’t they just as diverse as all get out? And doesn’t that make you feel good? No? You racist.

UPDATE:  Re Cummings’ unbelievable assurances on the IRS, nevermind email and phone snooping by the NSA, the IRS itself is watching your every move in the Web.

“…taxpayers should know that whatever people do and say electronically can and will be used against them in IRS enforcement.”

Our new surveillance state has become pervasive. Goodbye land of liberty.

The Three Snoops

The cartoonist ought to have added the nincompoop Barry assigned to run the Defense Department since it (allegedly) controls the National Security Agency and the CIA which are running the domestic spy ops on all of us in the name of fighting terrorism. Worked so well in Boston and Fort Hood, didn’t it.

“Knowing in my heart that President Obama has all the integrity of a Maitre D’, I figured that Americans would get the responsible service in this regard that they paid for, which for most of us is a contemptible near-zero amount.”

As J.D. Allen reminds, it’s not a question of whether the spying feds (and their undoubted director Wormtongue) have time to look at billions of emails and phone records. Of course they don’t.

Rather, it’s about when they decide, for whatever reason (and they get to pick the reason) to look at our individual emails and phone records. That’s when you’ll know (too late) that you’ve been chosen to play the “rule of law” game. A game they almost always win, even if you can afford to turn over a major part of your assets (such as selling your home) to pay a defense lawyer.

The Democrat’s federal coup

My Democrat friends (yes, I still have a few) are taking the Obama scandals rather well considering…

Five federal executive departments are either breaking the law or lying to Congress about what they’re doing or both:

** State [Benghazi murders, embassy and security sex scandals],

**Defense [NSA’s monitoring of who we call and how often and everything else we do on the Internet, collecting for when, if, they want to use it],

**Justice [monitoring reporter’s phone calls, shipping automatic rifles to Mexican drug cartels],

**Treasury [using the IRS against the president’s critics and anyone else who doesn’t toe the Democrat line], and

**Health and Human Services [shaking down corporations to pay for advertising for Obamacare, which the thoroughly untrustworthy IRS will soon be managing with your medical records].

And my Democrat friends? Are they embarrassed that their man is in the White House while all this is going down? While he claims to know nothing about any of it? (Just like Nixon and, like Nixon, certainly lying about it.)

That their favorite soon-to-be-presidential-candidate was at State when an American ambassador and two SEALs trying to save him were murdered? And then she lied about it, to us and to the families at the funeral?

You wish. They shrug. The Tea Party deserved it. The extreme Right is dangerous, etc. (The Right, to them, is always “extreme”.) All presidents do this. Bush was no angel. Reagan gave weapons to the Iranians. And so on.

Liberal Fascism, indeed. It can happen here. It has happened here. As Rush Limbaugh so rightly says, the Democrat federal executive has pulled a coup on all of us.

There is no law in the USA. Get used to it.

Unless…. The Congress is not reacting well to the news that their emails and calls also are being intercepted. They’re supposed to be exempt.

UPDATE:  When Obama supporters contort themselves to explain away his scandals, they reveal themselves.

When Mrs Roosevelt carried a piece

I can’t vouch for the authenticity of this “State of New York, County of Duchess, License to Carry Pistol is Hereby Granted” to Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt on Aug. 5, 1957, but it sure looks like the real thing.

Pity it does’t say what kind of iron it was, a .22 “ladies gun” or a full hog 1911 .45 caliber semiauto. Probably the former.

Since Wormtongue seems to identify with her then late husband (to the point of stealing one of his campaign slogans, i.e. Forward) I wonder whether he knows of her carry permit and has given any thought to the hypocrisy of his continued pursuit of new gun control laws.

Naw. At the very most, ol’ worm would only concede that the elite (and, in particular, the Democrat elite) certainly should have and should exercise rights not granted to the little people—who only deserve to be targeted by the Democrat’s IRS.
