I always wondered about that song the Democrats always sing in celebration on election night when they get a new guy in the White House. Have since FDR, actually. Well, I used to wonder, until Uncle Barry rolled out the big bucks that skyrocketed the national debt—a good percentage of which went to his cronies, like ACORN.

But the GSA scandal and the Secret Service prostitutes (hmm, echoes of ACORN) also make the song and its sentiment absolutely plain. As Instapundit has said, if you want the media to scrutinize presidential administrations, vote Republican. They flat go to sleep when a Democrat has the office, which only encourages things like the GSA and Secret Service shenanigans.

Behind those gas prices

According to this analysis, the high price of gasoline has more to do with the closing of some East Coast refineries and a glut of pipeline oil in Oklahoma, than Uncle Barry’s refusal to allow increased oil and gas production.

But presidents always get the blame for things like high gas prices, whether they deserve it or not. In this case, I think he deserves it. And they usually don’t get re-elected. Whether it will stop the re-election of the first “white” African-American president, however, remains to be seen.

“The president and his followers want to be able to labor on our behalf, and to make all of our important decisions.  Many of them, like their European counterparts, firmly believe this is the best way to achieve the common good.

“Others are driven by disgust with contemporary America and the American people, and see themselves acting to save the world from our own worst instincts and impulses.  Still others are elitists who despise the common people, who are so plainly unworthy of respect.

“Whatever the motivation, the ‘solution’ is to restrict the freedom of Americans in order that the superior beings who currently control the executive branch can dictate policy.”

Fortunately, it’s the job of the Supremes to approve or disapprove executive branch policy. Whatever Uncle Barry thinks about it.

Indeed, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans got a little riled.

Try this list of just one day’s moves by the largely-Democrat federal bureaucracy on new regulations for business. Great timing, right?

Hey, after eight years of the Republican Bush, one can imagine the tsunami that was building up in the regulators’ hearts and minds. It just had to come through.

“In his first three years in office Mr. Bush put into place 28 major regulations. Mr. Obama’s three years have seen 106 major regulations. In dollar terms the Bush regulations cost $8.1 billion and Obama’s $46 billion.”

With our economy-killing president, the wonder is that there’s been any recovery at all.

Meanwhile, economics author Amity Shlaes warns that double-digit inflation could be closer than Obamalot thinks:

“Bernanke talks about prices in one area — energy, for example — as different from those in the rest of the economy. The [1922] Germans, in their denial, thought their problem was limited to exchange rates, and that their domestic economy had hope. Risibly, Chancellor Joseph Wirth tried to tie down prices by regulating foreign currency. The equivalent, and equivalently risible, move today is the Ralph Nader effort to get the administration to push down oil prices.”

Islam is the only religion I ever heard of that not only sanctions wife-beating, but gives instructions on how to do it. Just enough. Not too much. And, as Donald Sensing notes, the reason is simple:

“Islam formally infuses little to no value in this life and in this world. Allah is remote and unconnected… There is no chance in Islamic thought that Allah could possibly be embodied among us – this Christian idea is very specifically rejected in the Quran – and there is no concept whatever of the Holy Spirit, or, as the Jewish Scriptures put it, the Presence of the Lord.”

So go ahead, Mr. Muslim. Beat your wife if she won’t do your biding. Allah couldn’t care less and he isn’t watching.

Never heard of the SPR? The more familiar term is the Democrat Party. PJMedia’s Roger L. Simon explains:

“Increasingly, racism – and more generally the division of our country into racial and ethnic interest groups — is all the Democrats have. The rest of liberal/leftist ideology is disintegrating all around them, as fragile and illusory as the welfare state itself.

“Without racism – or more exactly the putative existence of racism – the Democratic Party would be an association of overpaid trade union executives, unemployed Occupy movement sympathizers and trial lawyers. In other words – mighty small.”

The myth of the racist slaying of the innocent punk Trayvon Martin, with his gold-capped teeth and gangsta hoodie, by a “white Hispanic” (a term never before seen in the news media) is merely the latest example of the Democrat and news media (but I repeat myself) need to preserve racism.
