Executive Anus

I’ve conjured up a plethora of names for Barry Hussein, from Wormtongue for his habit of telling egregious lies, to Our Little Barry, for his petulant adolescent behavior in such as pretending to scratch his face with his middle finger.

But an 86-year-old gun dealer grandma in Roseburg, the Oregon town that was the latest victim of those stupid gun-free zones, has me beat all hollow. She calls His Earness “executive anus.” He sure is anal. Hasn’t had a new idea since he changed his name from Barry Sotero to you-know-what.

Indeed, if that Roseburg community college had had one good person with a gun (even their “security” guard was unarmed) to confront the evil that came calling, those dead students might still be alive. Instead, executive anus wants to make it harder for the good guys to get guns. Can’t get more anal than that.

Latest gun-free zone failure

Ten dead, seven injured at Oregon Community College where “Possession, use or threatened use of firearms…is prohibited.” Even the lone security guard was unarmed.

As usual, the shooter paid no attention to these pathetic regulations. Only the law-abiding did and, consequently, there was no one to fight back until the cops arrived. By which time the dead were accumulating.

Also as usual our feckless president responded by calling for more gun laws for the law-abiding. As if, you moron.

The message of our failing society is clear: Arm yourself or die.

UPDATE: Might be the work of a jihadi: “The shooter was asking people to stand up and state their religion and then started firing away, Moore said.”

Ninety-four years later: The fifty

“The first finished version of this machine gun – the Browning M2 – was completed in 1921 and intended at the time to be used against tanks and aircraft. However, the gun would turn out to be a phenomenally rugged, reliable, and effective gun in a multitude of roles. It remains in American military use today virtually unchanged, and also with many other nations worldwide.”

My old MAT (Mobile Advisory Team) in Vietnam in 1969 had one mounted in the back of a jeep. Worked fine so long as you didn’t squeeze off too many long bursts at a time through its 45-inch barrel. Then the vibrations would snap the welds on the plate holding its pedestal mount to the jeep. Not to mention shattering your eardrums.

Can’t imagine its tripod-mounted ground role. In WW2 they’d mount two or three of them inside the wings of fighter planes to fight other planes or strafe troops on the ground. I expect it to be around for another century. Awesome.

Flanagan and Roof. Two racist screwballs with too much time on their hands. One black, one white. Same motive, same m.o. Same quixotic aim: start a race war.

As usual, the Democrats and their half-wit president are blaming guns. So much easier than being a real leader, eh Barry? When it would be smarter to blame the fact that the welfare state pretty much ignores the mentally crazed.

“The patently crazy,” notes blogger John Hinderaker at the link above, “roam the streets unless and until they finally explode in violent acts. This is why the largest mental hospitals in the U.S. are in prisons.”

Um, there was one other apparent difference between Vester Lee and Dylan besides their skin color. V.L. was gay. But, for all we know, Dylan was, too.

UPDATE:  Vester was a poster boy for the Left’s “microaggression” bullshit.

The Democrats’ favorite Socialist (the only one who admits it; and Ma Barker‘s only real opponent so far) Bernie Sanders has staked his new position on handguns: They should be banned, along with shotguns and any other so-called “self-defense” firearm. Can’t have the proles defending themselves, can we?

Thanks for the warning, Bernie. Although just how you’d ban them (if you were our Socialist king) remains to be seen. Somehow I doubt a presidential executive order like that would last long in the courts. But you never know.

Is Bernie an aristo? Not literally, I suppose, but in a real sense, yes. Afterall, he’s a career pol whose major interest (like all of them) is his own re-election, accumulating money and power and prestige.

The Socialism bit is just his means to his end. Or, more likely, Ma Barker’s.

Psst, Bernie. The gun grabbers are losing. Sure you want to align with them?

Second Amendment: Aristos vs Commoners

“Amendment II. A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

Most of the modern debate about the second amendment to the U.S. Constitution centers on the need for a “well regulated militia.” It was needed then, it isn’t needed now, and so private guns aren’t needed, either, etc.

But the “right of the people to keep and bear arms” was always the most revolutionary aspect and remains so. It was revolutionary because prior to it, in most countries, only the elite, the aristocrats, had the right to keep and bear (or carry) arms. The men among them wore swords and, sometimes, pistols.

Ordinary people, the commoners, had no such right and though some of them certainly carried arms, they concealed them rather than bearing them because it was illegal for them to keep them let alone to bear them. That was true in mother England and in most countries of Europe and remained so long after the second amendment became law in the U.S.

Modern law has hemmed in the right, the “shall not be infringed,” in many ways. Always imposed by the elite, the modern aristos who tend to be politicians and their lobbyist-cronies. In the name of the common good, ironically.

And so the commoners, as individuals and in groups such as the NRA and the Gun Owners of America continually fight with publicity and lawsuits to beat them back. So far the commoners are winning, via concealed carry laws and, increasingly, open-carry. The latter being more in keeping with the amendment’s wording.

9mm vs 7.62

Two of those five slain Chattanooga military recruiters apparently were not defenseless. They were risking their careers carrying at least one unauthorized 9mm pistol and another kind not identified. They used them to defend themselves and others in returning the Jihadi’s AK-47 semi-auto rifle fire.

Of course they were at a disadvantage because they were ambushed. They didn’t know their lives were about to be on the line. And they were outgunned. The 9mm round has a slightly larger diameter than the  7.62 rifle bullet but the latter has more than twice the muzzle velocity and consequently more than four times as much hitting power. Explained here.

Nice to see post-attack gun sales rising and gun-owning citizens protecting recruiters while Barry Hussein’s Pentagon dithers (what else?) about legally arming them. It took him five days to authorize flying flags at half-staff. So far, all the recruiters who don’t carry illegally have got are those weenie “gun-free zone” decals on their front doors, which only impress the gun-grabbers.

UPDATE:  Barry Hussein’s “soldiers” ask the civilian guards to stop it. Good thing they can’t order them to stop it.
