Trying Mohammed

“About 40 percent of Americans have tried Mohammed.”

That’s the teaser lede on an email touting Debra J. Saunders’ Townhall Magazine column. Must be a Freudian goof for someone. Saunders or an editor?

The column is actually about making marijuana legal because Prohibition didn’t work the first time and obviously isn’t working this time. Not that the feds care. The War on Drugs is too big a jobs magnet and moralistic political tool so the demonstrably-failed effort goes on and on.

But we can be reasonably sure that forty percent of Americans have not tried Mohammed. At least not yet.

Texas vs Texas Tech

A wild first half left it 14-14. The Horns had a great first quarter and then promptly reversed themselves in the second quarter, with two interceptions and too many penalties for lost yardage. Thought we had another championship team there for a while. Not so sure now at the half. Defense has to develop some consistency. Offense has to protect Gilbert and help him get something going.

UPDATE:  The defense did and the offense did and Texas won 24-14. Way too many penalties, though, but I guess that’s to be expected in an in-state grudge game.

Adios, Blogrolling

Blogrolling has died again for the umpteenth time and until I can get TFG to explain to me why setting up my own via the Links category on the dashboard here sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t, there won’t be one here for you to use. Sorry about that. Stand by, however, biplane lovers, for another, really kewl picture of a biplane—the old Brit Swordfish. (And, no, I’m not going to link to Blogrolling. If it’s been a POS for me, lately, why should I direct you there?)

Throw the bums out

Here’s another elitist pol so crooked and so arrogant that she records herself begging a lobbyist for money. Because, you see, she’s in a position to do favors. I hope she’s up for re-election. But, then, she’s a black D.C. Dem pol and they tend not to be overthrown very often. They’re so entitled, you know. To steal.

Yes, I’m ready to be a right-wing villain

Why should Palin, Beck, Limbaugh and Boehner have all the fun being pilloried by the White House, and CBS, CNN and the other Obamalot court media? I always ask for plastic instead of paper or cloth. I never recycle, if I can help it. And I always ignore Tom Friedman columns. Please Mr. Iowahawk, give me a shot at villainy.

UPDATE:  Almost forgot. My piece de resistance. I favor the mosque near Ground Zero. But only if it is required to fly a giant Confederate battle flag.

Burning Korans

I couldn’t care less how many Korans that nitwit pastor in Florida burns. The question I want answered is why have the media and the politicians turned the guy into a celebrity? Are they all in the employ of the oil ticks?

Or, as Thomas Sowell says, has moral preening become their way of life? As he points out you really have to be a modern intellectual to miss the obvious in the proposed mosque at Ground Zero: It is a 15-story middle finger to the country.
