President Pantywaist II

You have to wonder why Barry is so intent on sucking up to Mad Mahmoud that he won’t do the heretofore obvious "The American people are with you guys" for the Iran protestors (see the cartoon at the bottom at the link). I mean, it’s not like he has to pledge any money or anything. Speaking of money, whose payroll is President Pantywaist on, here? Even the most murderous Chicago wiseguys don’t have time for the Mad Mullahs.

UPDATE:  Well, he finally said something, though cBS decided not to use it. Whose side are they on? And, then, on Saturday, with the regime’s security forces shooting down people in the streets, he said more. Good words, these, just rather late. And too bad they only came in a press release. He didn’t care enough to make a speech. What a wuss.

Iran’s real revolutionary

Zahra Rahnavard, Mousavi’s wife, has drawn Iranian women into the streets with her demands for their equal rights.

"I am not Iran’s Michelle Obama. I am Zahra, the follower of Fatimah Zahra [the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad]. I respect all women who are active."

Iran’s green revolution

If such it be. We can only hope. Instapundit’s flag is green. Popular Science mag has links to following it all in near-real time, mostly via Twitter (you’ll need a free registration) and Facebook (likewise) and others.

Those Wacky Dhimicrats

Dumb_Dumber.jpg

Barry is crafting a conciliatory letter to Mad Mahmoud (L). Hope Howard Howie (R) gets to come along on the visit.

UPDATE:  VDH is usually agast at what B. Hussein Obama plans or does, as here, in "Dancing Among Landmines," but we’ll see who’s right: whether a prez can really harm anything taking the appeasement route.

W’s legacy

I voted for GWB in 2004 because I knew the liar and traitor John Kerry would be much worse. But GWB disappointed me in every way except on Iraq. He didn’t have to let the Dems and media browbeat him so much without fighting back. But he did. Worst of all was the way he let Iran walk. He’s left Barry to deal with their nukes and Barry doesn’t have the cojones, let alone the political backing.

So in that sense GWB was a lousy president and history (insofar as anyone is left to write it after the nukes start going off) will say so.

With that in mind, we’re going to damn the recession and fly ahead to D.C. on Mr. B.’s spring break in March. We’ll tour the Capitol, the White House, the museums, the zoo, the Lincoln and Jefferson memorials, and visit his grandfather’s grave in Arlington. Because, among other reasons, it seems to me to be perfectly possible that none of that will be around much longer. When the terrorists start setting off their Iranian nukes, D.C. very likely will be the first target.

UPDATE:  Nevertheless, I agree with Thomas Sowell. Bush was and is an honorable man.

Getting stoned

Life in Mullah land. It ain’t like Disney World, where adulterers get hotel rooms. Well, not in Iran.

No slack for Iran

President-elect Barry backtracks a bit on Iran at his first news conference since the election:

"Iran’s development of a nuclear weapon I believe is unacceptable. And we have to mount a international effort to prevent that from happening. Iran’s support of terrorist organizations I think is something that has to cease."

No talk at all of welcoming the loudmouth Iranian dictator to the White House. But these are still early days.
