Like her campaign posters said: Mother, Soldier, Former Farmer. Iowa Republican Sen. Elect Joni Ernst, a lieutenant colonel in the Iowa Army National Guard, could be the next Sarah Palin without Palin’s baggage.
Ernst wants to repeal Obamacare, cut taxes, reduce the size of government, restrict abortions, etc. Her election Nov. 9 also helped kill the War On Women meme, though the election took down four Democrat women senators with one more anticipated.

Unidentified high school senior in Broken Bow, Nebraska poses with her hunting rifle and buck antlers for her yearbook picture, a smart new policy in the rural school district which is upsetting the Progs. Ah, fly-over country. I love it!
Wish she’d come down here and shoot a few of the deer we have roaming all over our neighborhood thanks to a recalcitrant city council with a Bambi-complex.
UPDATE: What’s easy in Nebraska ain’t so much in New York, even in the rural upstate region the anti-gun loonies prevail. It takes arguing with a school board.

Body-painted waitresses in Lewisville, northwest of Dallas, upset a city council but provide us some relief from the mini-massacre in the Little Apple where Kansas State ran over Texas 23-0—the first Longhorns skunking since Oklahoma did it in 2004. The game stunk, but the body-paint wins. And it sure beats ebola for Dallas-area news.
