Snowfall

Started up at the rancho about twenty minutes ago. Already lots of pictures people are taking around the area. This doesn’t happen often.

More snow?

Could be. After Sunday’s high in the low 80s (yep), the temp fell to 40 by midnight at the rancho. Supposed to be colder tonight and then up to an inch is in our forecast for Tuesday. And Accuweather’s Joe Bastardi says:

“By the way, this looks like the worst last week of Feb weather I can remember in Texas since I have been studying maps. It is interesting how late snowfalls are getting more common there, and earlier snowfalls too. If Dallas misses Tuesday IT’S CAUSE WACO AND COLLEGE STATION GET IT! In other words they miss to the south.”

Just not this far south, if you please. Although Mr. B. would be thrilled..

UPDATE: The forecast changed this morning to a ninety percent chance of snow Tuesday and the amount was upped to between two and four inches. Then, this afternoon, it was back to one-half to one inch.

AGW hysteria

AGWartVincentJFHuangThe faith in man-made global warming: “a tissue of assertions impervious to evidence, assertions which everything, including a historic blizzard, supposedly confirms and nothing, not even [fifteen years] absence of warming, can falsify.”

Spring is just around the corner

But, as the weather warriors at Accuweather dot com say: It could be a long walk to the end of the block.

Indeed, the Central Texas winter has already been twice as long as I’m used to. I bet the snow birds in the Valley and at Port A. are shaking their heads, too. Anyhow, our man Joe Bastardi says it’s going to be frigid for a while yet and Dallas may even see some more snow next week and again in March. Six to nine degrees below normal. Come on Spring. You can do it.

Global warming you say? Balderdash.

Texas suit against EPA

I’m glad Gov. Perry and AG Abbott are  suing to stop Obamalot’s EPA from damaging the Texas and U.S. economies in pursuit of resolving, at best, speculative man-made global warming. Hanging the suit on the credibility of EPA’s reliance on the IPCC report looks smart.

But it seems that whether the agency’s planned intervention survives will depend largely on a 2007 supreme court decision allowing it to claim carbon dioxide is a health-damaging pollutant. To reverse that would take another suit entirely, though it might be done on appeal if the Texas suit is turned back for that or some allied reason.

MORE:  Whatever the legacy media thinks about it, Texas has done everybody a favor in trying to stop the EPA’s runaway regulation train.

Build Your Own Solar Panel

That’s good advice, really, especially if you can weasel a government subsidy for it out of your local congressman. How do you think T. Boone Pickens plans to make money off wind power? Ain’t going to be in the profits, folks. Them’s fantasies.

The proof? This amazing article in American Thinker which has tracked down evidence that the alternative energy shuck so beloved by Obamalot and kibitzers at Starbucks, is bankrupting Europe and its practitioners are trying desperately to move it to our shores.

For the federal subsidies the Dems want to pay. While we already have abandoned wind farms in Hawaii and California that never paid their way after the subsidies expired. For one thing, the maintenance costs were too high. Let’s face it. If alternative energy was real it would be available to all without help from Henry Waxman. So get crackin’ on that solar panel and write your congressman for some of that stimulus money. You can’t make it pay otherwise.

Hitler on Climate Change

Yes, yes, the old Hitler parody probably has run its course. But, just for old times’ sake, once more… With feeling… Hee.
