Taxation is Theft

Taxation is Theft: a new meme sweeping the Internet. Especially when the taxes go to politicians and bureaucrats who use it for their cronies and pet schemes.

No wonder the FCC wants to regulate what we can say on here. And the IRS wants to punish conservatives for daring suggest major changes.

Rule 5: Girl With Gun

girlwithgun

About time we got back to the Rule 5s. This nice posterior view is only the start.

I’m Libertarian!

According to this presidential candidate poll, I am. Which I warn you will take about 15 minutes to complete, unless you’ve already thought about most of what is asked. I had not.

My own answers led to four Libertarians I never heard of: Austin Petersen, Gary Johnson, John McAfee and Marc Allen Feldman. Pity they have no chance.

Of the more likely candidates I side best with our Ted Cruz, followed closely by Trump. The Hildabeast is 30 points south of Trump in my poll results, and Bernie is 32. I don’t side with her on any major issues and him only on some foreign policy ones. Not a surprise.

Via Curmudgeonly and Mouth of the Brazos, who both came down with Cruz first.

First things first

J.D. apparently has found his dream car: a 1979 Chevrolet El Camino. Red. “350 ci, 4-speed auto, Edelbrock 4bbl carb.” Almost fully restored.

“No cruise control. (I had forgotten how tired your damn right foot gets on trips.) No decent stereo. AC poor, but still works. Some slop in the steering. Speedometer is variably inaccurate – not just 10 mph slow, or 15 mph slow or fast, but sometimes 15 slow, sometimes 10. I’ll get these things remedied ASAP, a little at a time. First step is replacing the stereo.”

Priorities. Priorities. Heh.

One good thing about Barry’s visit to Cuba

Nice to see a new post by Yoani Sanchez, the Cuban who blogs rather bluntly about the lies of the Castro regime. I suppose it means she was not rounded up and jailed before our Little Barry Hussein’s recent visit. Nor afterwards for having written nothing especially very nice about his Earness.

Stupid, or lazy, Millennials

“Now Americans aged 16 to 24 rank at the bottom of a 22-country evaluation of numeracy, literacy, and technological problem-solving.

“Poor student performance should be no surprise: America’s family structure is falling apart. Nearly 30% of non-Hispanic white children are born out of wedlock, as well as 53% of Hispanics and 73% of African-Americans. When Reagan took office, 18% of all American births were to unmarried mothers. By 2014 the figure was above 40%.

“Catch-up ball doesn’t begin to describe our predicament. We need nothing short of a great national turnaround. There are two Republican candidates who made clear from the outset that it isn’t business as usual — Ted Cruz and Donald Trump. Another Romney wouldn’t be relevant.”

And Spengler, aka David Goldman, prefers Our Ted. Millennials, however, will almost certainly vote for the Hildabeast whose policies will continue the decline.

First Mooch’s lunch rules, now this

“The Obama administration plans to continue its war on food and food manufacturers with proposed guidelines for sodium consumption.

Despite “New studies show[ing] the government recommended sodium consumption level actually puts people at risk of death.”

Well, that’s no surprise. Their low-fat commands to food processors in the 1960s spurred 1980s epidemics of obesity and diabetes. Science’s reversal of their cholesterol edict was so embarrassing they hid it deep in a 572-page government report in 2015. Now, against their own research, the feds are going to try to get salt out of our diets.

Follow their food guidelines at your peril.
