Marco vs Hillary

I doubt the Democrats really are afraid of this matchup in 2016. But at least they understand that Our Little Barry broke the white-men-only ice and women-and-minorities are the likely winners of the White House for the foreseeable future.

So although I would prefer Ted Cruz, or even gutsy Carly Fiorina, it’s more realistic to go with Marco. He has the good looks and the charisma they lack as well as a pretty smile. Handsome does win political races. And Hillary ain’t.

Indeed,  “If Mrs. Clinton were to win the presidency, she would do so under a cloud of distrust unprecedented in any of our lifetimes.  She would have no honeymoon period and would not deserve one…America would be split asunder at the beginning of a Hillary presidency as never before since the Civil War.”

Not that I expect the Stupid Party’s honchos to allow MR to be nominated. No, they will go with Jeb. And lose. And Hillary will follow our Little Barry into distrust and disdain. Once-more-into-the-breach, the Stupid Party will go, battering their heads against the new brick wall until they finally figure out they can’t win with a white Anglo male.

Rocker’s Pearls

Rocker Ted Nugent’s advice to graduates:

1. Life is not fair. Get used to it.
2. Social justice is a commie scam. Read the drivel of Saul Alinsky and fight it with all you’ve got.
3. Nobody owes you jacksquat. You will either earn your own way, or feel like a helpless leech. There is no middle ground.
4. Economic equality is for sheep. If you really believe we are all equal in our capabilities you will go nowhere.

More. And with Nugent in Waco.

Repeat of 1981 flood possible

A good chance of rain is forecast today and every day of this Memorial Day weekend. It’s normal for us to get a lot of rain around this time of year and, for those of us old enough to remember, to think of 1981. And this year we’ve already had more than a normal May’s worth of rain and the ground is saturated.

So it’s logical to expect something resembling the flood of 1981. It won’t take the 11 inches in three hours of that downpour to sent creeks and streams out of their banks this time. They’re already almost as high as their banks.

We’re definitely expecting a repeat of the Back Forty’s infamous waterfall. Pretty but worrisome as the water from it rises across the patio toward the sliding glass doors of the family room. Once again, they will be barricaded by unused floor tile and, this time, by a large framed photograph of a gas station (don’t ask, I don’t know why) my brother-in-law sent me years ago. Finally some use for it, freeing up space in the garage for something prettier.

UPDATE:  We’re under a flash flood watch for the weekend.

MORE:  If you want to help with the larger disaster around the Austin area, including Wimberley’s devastation in Hay’s County, my favorite charity is the Salvation Army which has no high-paid administrators and dispatches feeding canteens to shelters. They don’t push religion, they just help. You can donate online at http://www.salvationarmyaustin.org

Miriam Carey is still dead

Every two-bit petty criminal who happens to be black gets the full snooze media treatment with walk-on parts by our Little Barry and his pal Al Sharpton. But when a young, law-abiding black mother is gunned down by a pack of wild police animals…Crickets.

UPDATE:  Not too many have contributed to her legal fund, probably reflecting people’s ability to recognize futility when they see it. But I gave some and you should, too.

Muslim bomber’s mom wishes us in hell

“…the United States will burn ‘in the flames of an eternal and terrifying fire,’ says the observant Muslim mother of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the convicted Boston Marathon bomber who was sentenced to death but will probably never meet the hangman.

This is Little Barry’s Justice Department, after all. If they didn’t screw up the case so it will be overturned on appeal—a big if—their federal appeals judges will find a way to let him off with prison, until he’s eventually paroled.

“Predictably, [federal] prosecutors assured the public that the bombers were not motivated by religion—despite what the bombers themselves believed,” notes the Religion of Peace blog, in linking to this personal affirmation of Tsarnaev’s religious intent.

Much like the Fort Hood killer who shouted Alley Who Quackbar over and over as he pulled trigger but the feds ignored it and wrote off his crime as “workplace violence.” It’s their clarity of purpose that strengthens our religious enemies such as the ISIS terrorist army against our often hapless, secular defenders.

Which is why being armed is a very good idea these days.

Blacks do the crime, whites get the blame

Black academics like the new “Mrs” Grundy blame white men for racism and sexism, which along with classism are the major preoccupations of modern “scholarship.” They’re frantically trying to deflect attention from the federal crime stats.

The latest (2012) stats (if you can believe Fart, Barf & Itch who collect and tabulate them) show that blacks commit almost a third of all crimes in the US, a majority of the robberies and almost half of the murders. Despite being a mere 13 percent of the population—and ubiquitous in just about every ad you see anywhere.

Begin to see why the Al Sharptons scurry so fast to twist and shout about the latest black victim while ignoring the white ones? They have a whole lot to cover up.

UPDATE:  “Mrs” Grundy is one of what Yale literature professor Harold Bloom calls “the pseudo-power and gender-freaks” in the School of Resentment.

Rains continue with possible flooding

That’s the forecast of meteorologist Bob Rose with the Lower Colorado River Authority.

“This long-term spell of wet weather is very unusual—even for the [normally wet] month of May.  A good part of this wet pattern can be traced to the moderate El Niño that is in place [off the coast of Chile].  The El Niño looks to continue through the summer and the upcoming fall.”

The ground in much of Austin and environs is saturated, so with more rain expected this weekend and throughout next week, flooding could be just around the corner.

“I want to remind everyone to be very cautious around area creeks, streams and low water crossings,” Rose concludes.   “All of these can rise very quickly as we get additional rains.  If you encounter a flooded roadway or low water crossing, please remember not to cross any barricades and Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”

UPDATE:  Mr. B.’s scout Troop 511 has canceled its weekend camping at El Rancho Cima, west of San Marcos: “The [Blanco] river has risen and is unsafe, and the ground is saturated and swamp like.  All other Troops have canceled their camping plans this weekend.”
