Wormtongue investigates himself

Yeah, we can all have confidence in this: A Democrat donor ($7,600) is leading the questioning of witnesses in the feds’ so-called “investigation” into the IRS’s harassment of conservative political groups.

A fact only lately rooted out by Congress, certainly never announced.

History has shown that all politicians, including presidents, are dishonest to a degree, but Wormtongue is in a class unto himself.

In part, because the dominant Democrat news media (but I repeat myself) looks the other way—or is busy eviscerating Republicans like Christie. And in part, I think, because the Worm knows that black men can get away with just about anything in America’s race-conscious, race-sensitive culture—enforced as it is by the same news media.

Although, now and then, retribution may finally catch up with them, as O.J. Simpson found out.

Shakey Graves

Country blues guitarist and singer Shakey Graves of Austin—whose offstage name is Alejandro Rose-Garcia—is really stepping out in Austin, Lubbock, etc.. Not to mention South Carolina, Georgia, and other places he tours.

A one-man band, even, something you rarely see anymore. With two drum pedals Graves-Garcia works with his heels, one hitting an empty-suitcase drum that is part of the act, and another on a tambourine wrapped in a bandana.

Sez my good San Antonio IT guy, Scott: “[Graves] has an unique sound, a really distinct voice, seems to be the real deal as a songwriter, and is blessed with movie-star looks. Here’s hoping he isn’t crushed like a bug by The Machinery.”

And, thanks to the magic of the Internet, you can see Shakey (Alejandro) for free. He is, in fact, all over YouTube. (But his stuff is worth buying to listen to away from your PC, laptop or what-have-you.)

Our culture of corruption

“I know it sounds incredible, but there is no doubt about it whatsoever. According to Reuters, Anthony Podesta’s lobbying firm, the Podesta Group, has received over $900,000 in payments from the [Yanukovych] regime, using its European Center for a Modern Ukraine front organization as an intermediary.

“Other top Washington lobbyists are also serving the regime, including, to be nonpartisan about the matter, former Romney adviser Vin Weber. But Weber’s lack of principle is a private matter. Podesta has a direct connection to the president of the United States.”

UPDATE:  Judicial Watch lists ten most corrupt pols: from Wormtongue with his “continual lies;” the Lizard Queen with her shouted “What difference does it make?” about why an ambassador was left to die; to GOP Speaker John Boehner who collected $200,000 to move House legislation along. And seven more. While the non-Fox News media gives us Miley Cyrus, et al.

Our elite are avoiding military service

The recent cooperation by both of our corrupt political parties in cutting military retiree income, including war-disabled retirees, is an ominous warning we ignore at our peril.

So far (how ironic is this) militant lesbian feminist Camille Paglia is the only one I’ve seen take up the challenge.

“The entire elite class now, in finance, in politics and so on, none of them have military service—hardly anyone, there are a few. But there is no prestige attached to it anymore. That is a recipe for disaster,” she says. “These people don’t think in military ways, so there’s this illusion out there that people are basically nice, people are basically kind, if we’re just nice and benevolent to everyone they’ll be nice too. They literally don’t have any sense of evil or criminality.”

I also think people are basically kind and cooperative. But I know that some are not and so I own guns and am ready to use them if need be. But then I’m also a veteran. Fortunately not a disabled one, having to depend on our lying political class.

The elite will learn. Wormtongue won’t be in the White House forever. We just have to hope that too many of us don’t have to learn with them. But I fear that as their pathetic attitudes trickle down to corrupt the tiny fraction of the populace still eager to serve, conscription will have to come back. And if you think the military is expensive now…

Paglia’s take on this and many other contentious topics is part of a larger interview you’d do well to read. Who else is championing the old-fashioned masculine virtues? Other than Duck Dynasty, I mean.

She isn’t the first to make this argument, but she does it better than most: “Primary-school education is a crock, basically. It’s oppressive to anyone with physical energy, especially guys,” she says, pointing to the most obvious example: the way many schools have cut recess. “They’re making a toxic environment for boys. Primary education does everything in its power to turn boys into neuters.”

Adios, Mack

It’s probably just as well that Longhorns football coach Mack Brown resigned. After watching last night’s 30-7 debacle in San Antonio, it’s pretty clear the exalted Coach February has lost a lot of his shine in the recruiting department.

Texas hasn’t had a dynamic quarterback since Colt McCoy and this year they barely had an offense. Their good defense held Oregon to one touchdown and three field goals. It was the offense’s game to lose, which they did, with two free touchdown-interceptions and a lot of dropped passes.

So, yes, I agree it’s time for a change. Four years of mediocre play is enough. Brown can only go so far on his “class act” reputation and we’ve reached the end. I just hope his replacement is a proven winner instead of merely a great-potential guy. And that he has an outstanding QB in his back pocket.

Officer Friendly is out of control

“Forced anal cavity searches have replaced pepper spraying and tasering as the most popular [police] form of degrading human beings…”

Texas has had some of these, too.

At least it’s preferable to being murdered like Miriam Carey.

Revelations

Try this English vocabulary and pronunciation survey and see if it doesn’t place you accurately in a specific region of the country: It put me in the Deep South, specifically Alabama, with a bit of Georgia thrown in.

I would have thought my military upbringing would have Midwesternized me more, but I guess not. With parents from Mississippi and Texas, I suppose it was inevitable I wouldn’t talk like people in the Midwest.

Of course if English is your second or even third language, like Mr. Goon, the placement won’t be accurate except to show you which region’s patois you have ingested.
